Why bother, not ones goves a _hit anyway.
Once upon a time I took out an MTN contract and all was well. I upgraded it a few times over the years, and things were still well. exactly 3 weeks ago, I decided to do another upgrade. I went to their branch on Maude avenue and enquired about upgrading. I was advised that they didn't have the phone in stock, but that they could source it from another branch and that this process would take about a week. Stupid me, believed this BS. The paperwork was done and I left. The following week I enquired about the phone and received blank stares from the ladies that work at the branch - how dare I ask them about where my new phone was ! They mumbled that they were having difficulty getting stock. I went to the branch a few more times and eventually gave up. I logged a complaint with MTN and received and email saying that I could do the upgrade via their call centre - which, stupid me - I did. During the rolling back of the failed upgrade and the placing of a new one, I asked that they call me a different number as the sim for the upgraded contract lives in a tablet that I have. Legend has it that the number was taken down and that all was well. But it wasn't. I called in two more times to asking them to note the alternate contact number - this was never done. Eventually I put the sim in a phone and then phoned DSV to arrange for delivery. On Tuesday they advised that delivery would take place yesterday between 12 and 2 - it didn't. So I called in this morning on the 3 week anniversary of having had a brain **** and being stupid enough to upgrade. I was told that somehow the delivery address had been changed to my home address, not sure how or why as all my upgrades have been done here, at work. I am now told that I can expect delivery at home tomorrow, before 1. I'm writing this cautionary tale which I'm sure no one will read or give a toss about because it saddens me that service in SA has disappeared altogether - and no one is doing anything about it.
