Whatever you do, DO NOT USE MTN to Roam

Whatever you do do not use MTN to roam. I must admit this was my fault as I thought the roaming rates would have been in the R7.50 - R9,00 per minute area. Man was I wrong. In Thailand the basic rate was R25.00 per minute and in other countries could go up to almost 10 times that, even if you have requested international and roaming. No wonder MTN profits are in the billions. Always, always buy a local sim. And MTN, really, no, don't blame the other countries.

Under Everyday services click on Roaming.

You will find information on how much the call rates cost before going on roaming.
