What service is MTN providing to its customers?

I keep buying data bundles and money comes off my FNB account but, I'm unable to connect to the internet. I called MTN customer care line 135 and was advised to remove my sim card for 5 minutes which I did but, still does the same thing, Can MTN explain what is this about? my number is ***
