Was this an attempted ****

I received an SMS stating my account was overdue with an ABSA account number to pay to. I didn't used that info. My outgoing calls were cut off. I paid via the official pre-existing corporate accounts available with Standard Bank. My outgoing calls were reinstated.

Please explain how my account went from nothing overdue to an amount of R965 at 90-days overdue. This means there was an amount due 3 months ago which is unpaid. This was not the case. I have reconciled all direct debits and invoices for the last 6 months. All were paid exactly as invoiced.

This caused me great inconvenience in carrying out business.

I have requested evidence of the outstanding amount and an invoice. Neither has been provided.

Was this an attempt at a **** which went awry! I believe that it is. And am extremely angry at the situation.

Explanation please!?

The itemised billing report shows that no amounts were outstanding. The 90-days amount appeared after 6-months of nothing outstanding and triggered outgoing call cutoff. An SMS was sent demanding money with an ABSA bank account number included. Who's bank account number was this? I still believe someone tried to **** me and failed because I paid via an account number provided by Standard Bank. I need an explanation?

So far no acceptable response from MTN. Only a list of all transactions since 2013. No explanation on how my account went from nothing owing for 30/60/90 days to an amount of R965 90-days overdue. Unacceptable. Indication that there is something to hide?!
