Warranty is only a sales gimmick
I have more than 1 contract with MTN. My blackberry gave me problems and I sen it in for repairs via the Three Rivers branch. Before booking it in, one of MTN staff actually informed me that MTN tends to return most blackberry's. I confirmed whether I will need to pay anything to send my phone in. I was told that there would be a fee if it was damaged from my side and then there would be a fee. If it cannot be repaired, then MTN would send me a new device considering that this is under warranty. Knowing 100% that I had not incurred any damage to the device, I gladly sent the phone away. To my disgust, MTN wants to charge me R360 [approximate] and claim that I have damaged the devise. I find that they are easily passing the buck to me. How do I now prove against this strong standing service provider that I have not damaged it. Why does MTN claim to offer warranty when in fact it's just a sales gimmick. My device is still at MTN and my number *** D Mitchell. I need my device replaced with a working one - whether new or refurbished, and I don't seem to find any joy at MTN.
