Very poor service from MTN AND DSV
I have a bad experience with the DSV courier company and MTN the service provider, I had obtained a cellphone contract and the first time the delivery guy came to deliver the parcel the " Fingerprint reader " could not read my thumb print and he said it was not the first customer and he also had people giving back and cancelling their order due to this issue.
The DSV courier company said they would reschedule a delivery and a week later the same driver came and once again 4 times trying we could not get the reader to read my finger prints. I contacted the MTN and DSV call centers and they both told me it was each others problems and that they were just trying to shift the blame. I managed to get hold of a lady at Mtn she told me that she will look into it and get back to me.
After a few minutes she came back to me and said that the protocol is to be checked by the finger print reader and if it cant be done the phone will be returned to MTN. This made me furious and the DSV delivery guy actually phoned from his phone and told them I had locked the gate and that he cannot get out until DSV and MTN comes up with a better solution.
It was not 5 minutes and someone from the call center at DSV phoned the driver and told him to do a manual delivery. I signed my Invoice and that was it. I was given a copy of the receipt but no physical contract has been given to me till today. I am very disappointing in the service delivery of MTN AND DSV.
This is what happened further and its not sorted out!!!!!
I was contacted by the agent after applying for a cellphone contract with MTN and the agent took my details etc and according to her if I am not happy with the cellphone I can return it within 7 days and yesterday being the 10/11/2022, 6 days after I received my phone, a Huawei Nova 10 Pro, I sent an email to MTN asking for the return policy to be taken into consideration and that I would want a new phone as this phone is not what I want and it has had a few minor issues switching off by itself and also switching my data off.
I got a reply from the customer center telling me to take it in to the nearest store and they will have a look at it and send it in for a check before anything can be done about it. Now that was not mentioned when applying for the contract and I ask to go and listen to the person who spoke to me. I find this very disturbing because I use my phone for business purposes and rely on a good phone as I use it as a mini computer. What must I do if I send my phone into a center and wait for some person to come back to me and tell me they cannot find a fault????
Unacceptable I want a phone with the same specs in either a Samsung or Apple and that is the bottom line. My work is of that nature I write a lot of emails, I take plenty photos of clients vehicles and faults and I do a lot of planning so its not fair that I must pay such a installment every month just to battle with a phone.
Please try and find a solution to this problem. I am told to go through the channels accordingly before I go to the news papers and social media and expose the poor customer service.
