UTTER INCOMPETENCE

Having spent the most frustrating WEEKS being subjected to what can only be described as the utter incompetence of MTN, I have to call them out for a total breakdown in their financial system which nobody in their organization seems able to rectify. I went into a branch on 14 August to arrange an upgrade of my phone – particularly with a view to taking up the August offer of a free tablet with the upgrade. I was informed that my account had been blocked because of an arrear on a linked phone which I was unaware of. I immediately made payment in full of the arrears, provided proof of payment over and over and over and OVER for the following SEVENTEEN DAYS and yet the payment cannot be traced and my account still remains blocked. On Friday the 27th I received an e-mail from Brian Tshabalala in the Complaints Department advising the account had been reactivated. I once again travelled to Norwood Mall Branch (who are the only shining star in the entire organization, as they have bent over backwards to assist me), however they discovered that my account was still frozen! Tomorrow is the last day of the month and the offer ends – and none of the many people I have dealt with (most of whom have been very helpful and tried to do their very best) will confirm that I will still be able to take up the offer if this is not resolved by tomorrow. How is it possible that a payment which has been made and proof of payment provided cannot be traced? What kind of useless organization does not have ONE person who will take responsibility for sorting this out? I have spent days and days on the telephone and in different branches. I have lost count of the people I have spoken to. The original credit controller to whom I spoke - Sandra Honwana - never reverted to me at all. On numerous occasions I requested to speak to a supervisor in the legal department and was told someone would call me. Nobody ever did. My reference number is STT***
