upgraded contract, it has not been activated - on day 5 now.

I visited MTN In fountains mall.

Nathan signed me up on a contract, i was told by Nathan and another staff member that Mtn would activate my new upgrade immediately and i will receive 3 sms's, well im still waiting. Its been 5 days and the contract still has not been activated. I also want to know that my previous contract has been cancelled. I am sitting waiting for my contract to be activated and they say there is nothing they can do?
