UPGRADE NIGHTMARE!!!!

What seemed to be a paperless efficient way of upgrading turned into a nightmare. The phone was for my daughter as a surprise.... the upgrade caught me by surprise and after almost a month, I am still waiting for my handset.

I did the telephonic upgrade with Denel. She told me that the upgrade would take a few days longer, due to a new Courier Service being appointed by MTN Direct. She didn't mention A MONTH!!!!!!!!

After numerous calls, with no joy at all, I finally instructed them on Thursday 10 August 2017 at 3:03 pm to cancel my upgrade. I was told that someone would phone me back and confirm the cancellation.

Guess what, no joy again, nobody phoned me and when I phoned on Friday 11 August 2017, I was told that my upgrade has been processed on the 11th of August. How on earth is this possible? After I requested them to cancel it?

Today, again, I phoned with no joy. The handset still is not with the Courier Company nor do they know where it is.

After three calls today, where I was told numerous stories, I got to speak to Kim Basson, supervisor of Denel, who again, was not available to speak to me. She said that it would be faster to get the phone delivered than to cancel the upgrade. We didn't have a very smooth conversation, and I instructed her verbally to cancel the upgrade for me to be able to go into a MTN store that is far more competend than MTN Direct.

Why do I have to wait four weeks for a phone. First the people who handle the upgrades are very rude and sarcastic, especially Kim Basson. Attitude towards customers is her motto!! I am fed up and need this upgrade cancelled. I won't ever make use of MTN Direct again. Pathetic pathetic service, especially Kim Basson, Denel and Annelize!!! Shame on you!!!

Regards

Erika Weyers

Good Day,

Thank you for your post.

We apologize for the inconveniences that you have experienced as a result of the laps in service. We completely understand the frustration it causes.

We had introduced a new system that later gave teething issues and as a result customers ended having to wait for delivery of devices longer than what the process permits. We have reverted back to the old system with our courier service partners. This is so we can correct the errors and try to get all customers what is due to them. We apologise immensely for this matter and the service you have received from us.

I have sent your matter to the relevant department for urgent resolution and they should be in contact with you soonest.

Kind Regards,
Kabelo Brett Mosimanyane
