Upgrade gone pear shaped due to rotten service

I recently upgraded my cell phone contract on the 28 June 2016.

Delivery was made on 30 June 2016.

I immediately phoned to activate sim of Huawei Media Pad T1 10 and LG Stylus2.

The media pad T1 is a long awaited gift for a very excited child.

For some reason Sim not activated on both devices. I then phoned on Friday. The person assured me that it will be active on Friday.

By saturday, both devices not active. Again phoned in, they assured me will be active in 2 hours.

Today is Sunday 3rd July 2016 and sim swops not done. Unable to use both devices.

I've got a child screaming at me, because she cannot use the Huawei Tablet. So, I phoned in again and consultant says that activations department do not work on weekends and I must phone on Monday.

How do I placate a child who has been looking forward to this tablet for a year?

What horrible service that activations do not work weekends. Why does MTN not stop all its services and close all its stores on weekends, if it cannot activate a device.

I am being billed from the 28th June 2016 for two new devices that I cannot use.

MTN gives you 7 days from the 28th June 2016 to test devices and return if Faulty. The 7 days will be up on 5th July, and we are unable to use both devices.

The sales department say it is their policy. nevermind if delivery did not happen. what a horrible policy.

The lady at call centre Nqobile Ref# ********** 91, says that they can only assist with limited calls. She could not help me with my activation or give a suitable response, why the two new devices are not active, She is also unable to escalate query. she also says no managers work on weekends, so I cannot speak to a manger.

It seems that all the call centre agents act as robots and only able to assist with defined queries and not anything outside those defined parameters.

My kid is screaming at me, and MTN cannot offer a replacement device until this issue is resolved.

MTN STOP Advertising and stop selling contracts.

Safiya Ahmed
**********
********** 191
