Upgrade fee ?? since when ???

I am so disappointed... I have been a customer with MTN for a good couple of years now and never ever been charged a contract upgrade fee of almost R1000 !!!! no one told me that there would be a fee to upgrade and I have never ever paid this fee before...... What the Actual F MTN where and FYI MTN send me the sms telling me i am due for an upgrade.
