************ content charges

For the last three months I have been billed for "content charges" by MTN. I did not sign up for this service, nor did I give MTN the authorization to hand over my details to a third party. I continue to receive regular unsolicited messages from MTNYello telling me to sms STOP to opt out of various services they offer. I have never requested any of these services and the constant spam that I receive from MTN borders on harassment. A quick search online shows that these content charges are a persistent problem for MTN customers. Yet MTN refuses to do anything about it, claiming that it is not their responsibility.

I have been in contact with Ntabiseng from the MTN Social Media Team who directed me to contact AirG (corp.airg.com), the third party company who MTN gave my details to. This company is based in Canada and contacting them proved futile, as they simply say there is nothing they can do. Charging customers for services they did not sign up to amounts to *****.

Thank you for your post

We are terribly sorry for the inconveniences that you experienced as a result of this. We completely understand the frustration it causes.

You may contact waspa directly on Tel: +27.11.476.7710 for assistance regarding getting hold of AIRG. Kindly note that content service is not part of MTN services, therefore, the billing solely gets traced back to the MTN number.

Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention and we assure you that we are anxious to retain you as a satisfied customer.

Regards

Dear Nonpumelelo

This is not an acceptable response from MTN. These charges appear on my MTN statement. I have never had contact with AirG and I certainly did not authorize these charges to my account. I have seen many MTN customers complaining about this online. It is MTN's responsibility to do something about it.

I am not prepared to pay the outstanding content charges on my account. So no, I am not a satisfied customer.

Marc

Useless *****s. Can't respond to a complaint; can't sort out a problem
