Unsatisfied Customer

My SIM device experienced a full day of network outage on January 24, 2023. I assumed the power reduction problem was the cause. This continued into the next day. I became concerned at that point and made the decision to visit an MTN shop to find out what was going on. I was shocked when the store agent informed me that I had done sim swap and ported my number to another service provider, and that I was no longer listed on the MTN network. She was unable to help me further.

In order to learn the truth, I made the decision to contact MTN customer service. I swapped my sim cards and moved my number to Vodacom, they retorted. They were shocked when I told them I had never done sim swap or transferred my number.I asked the representative to request Vodacom to revert back my number back. It took some time, and I never received my phone number.

I was unaware that someone had made purchases at Game store on the day the sim swap took place. I repeatedly questioned them about the status of returning my number, and they always rep****, "They are waiting for Vodacom."

I was startled to learn in an email from the game store account in March that I owe them R20,000 . I notified the game store ***** section of the issue, and I was told to go to the store to stop my store card and file a complaint. It's very aggravating that MTN won't give me the SIM switch report, which means the game store can't help with the inquiry right now.
