Unprofessional with a professional

I was recently very frustrated with MTN.

After years at Vodacom I had decided I was not as happy with Vodacom as I used to be, and also I liked the innovative approach, pricing structure and their approach to the ICASA

I went into a local shop at Waterstone Village in WC and saw a package I liked but they didn't have stock, OK these things happen. The salesman said lets do a pre-approval and see if you qualify. I DID, in fact for a package far larger than I wanted.

However initially a flag came up on the system for an alleged account I had a long time ago ( far more than 3 years ago) When I saw the information I notified the salesman that was to do with my ex husbands surname and that I had dealt with this with MTN some years back and why was it still on the system ? Asides that under law it should not be reflecting or held against me in any event. He adjusted he information for me on the system.

Over the next few weeks the stock still didn't arrive, even after approaching various other local branches. I was advised to them apply directly as I had been pre approved, so that as soon as stock arrived I would be one of the the first

I was given a number and asked my son to call as I was bust that day. He did and was informed that yes I could do so.

A few days later I called to apply. What a call, the service person seemed most inept and almost alliterate. I was also informed that I could NOT apply directly if there was no stock. I requested that she process the application anyway. Which took an effort in self control and patience....to say the least...

She then said "if" I am approved I will be notified. I duly informed her that I had already app**** in store and had been pre approved. She did not seem able to comprehend much of what I said. I did try an explain to her re the very old matter that (I hoped) was still not appearing. Again it was a fruitless mission.

A few days later I received an email stating that I had been declined as I did not meet the "criteria" ( which I know I do)

I rep**** tot he email (twice) requesting the information as to why I do not qualify ( so that I can see what it is an address it)

I of course have received no response. On going into a branch they informed me there is nothing they can do to assist I would need to call in again. Calling in results in much hanging on and trying to explain and getting nowhere.

SO guess MTN doesn't want professionals and also their business , as they themselves have no professionalism to offer me...

Pity it was really a deal I would have liked to have, well guess I will need to renew the contract with vodacom, .......
