******** CREDIT LIMIT

I did an upgrade on my one cell number this morning, dealing with Leeann, who was very friendly and helpful. So, lo and behold, not even a few minutes later I receive an SMS from MTN stating that I have exceeded my credit limit of R764.00. ***??!!! I do an upgrade and the next moment I have a credit limit on my account? On whose authority? Sure as hell not mine - I've never set a credit limit on my MTN in the 12 years+ that I've been with them, so who the hell gives them the right to do it?????!!! I WANT THAT CREDIT LIMIT REMOVED IMMEDIATELY, AND THE IDIOT CALL CENTRE AGENT THAT I SPOKE TO AT 09:30 FIRED BECAUSE SHE'S A BRAINLESS DIMWIT WHO RECITES WHAT SHE HAS LEARNT IN TRAINING AND IS UNABLE TO THINK FOR HERSELF. Telling me that I have to change the limits on my phone dialing the *141* ... number. EXCUSE ME??? MTN stuffs up my account and then I have to change things. ***** that and ***** MTN. I have two cell phone contracts due for upgrade and then expiry shortly thereafter - either MTN sorts out their stuff up and apologise for their incompetence and sheer stupidity, or I cancel those contracts. Many other service providers out there ....

Hello J Helberg,

Thank you for your post.

Please accept our apologies for the inconvenience experienced.

The credit limit that has been put in place is as per the request from the NCA (National Credit Act). This is not a service that MTN provides to you. It services as a risk measure in the customers favor as per the NCA.

Regards
Thabelo
