Hi, I upgraded my device early November 2017. This is not the first time I do so, and I always had an insurance cover, for which was charged separately and as per the contract, the exact amount debited. In December 2017 I received billing of R1067, I enquired as my device payment is R599 and insurance was supposed to be R230. I was informed that the R467 was towards insurance for which I was charged a pro-rata amount for upgrading mid month. On the 29th of December 2017 I canceled the insurance, and as per any normal insurance policy, it is supposed to lapse. Today 22 January 2018,i recieved billing of the same R1067 for which I was told that there is an insurance amount OWING. HOW DOES ONE OWE INSURANCE????! Cause in my understanding it is supposed to elapse. I called in again and was told by a Quinton from the insurance department that if I don't pay the insurance amount then MTN is going to cancel my device contract. How does one pay for an insurance they don't want?! I will not pay that amount. So kindly assist urgently with this matter.
