Unhelpfull, unwilling staff

We have been trying to sign up for a business lte contract, however, apparently, there is no Fixed LTE coverage at our premises. We are using my perosnal LTE simcard currently, and it is working excellent. Today I saw contractors working at the tower across the street. They confirmed they are contractors working for MTN, and that they are upgrading the tower, so we should have Fixed LTE soon, but they cannot anser as to when this would be. I tried phoning different MTN numbers, but no one seems to be willing to even try and assist. They all simply just say they dont know, and we shoudl go to the nearest MTN store. The store also does not know. So what now? Why do we have to beg MTN to be a customer???

Good day Willem,

Please note below feedback from our coverage department.

The MTN Fixed and Mobile solutions / products run on the same LTE network. The only difference between the two is that one is “mobile” LTE (no restrictions) and the other is “fixed” LTE (fixed to a specific data device and address / location).
The MTN Made For Home / Fixed LTE solution / products is only available in areas (base stations) where we have capacity on the LTE network.
Not all areas (base stations) have additional capacity to facilitate / allow for MTN Made For Home / Fixed LTE solution / product / customers. Hence MTN created an additional layer on our network coverage map, to indicate where MTN Made For Home / Fixed LTE is available for purchase / use.
Note that the network is monitored continuously to ensure the best network experience is available to our customers.
The availability MTN Made For Home / Fixed LTE in specific areas (base stations) is based on the above, so where there is capacity you will find MTN Made For Home / Fixed LTE and where there is no capacity you will not find MTN Made For Home / Fixed LTE.   Where MTN Made For Home / Fixed LTE is not available, the customer(s) has the choice to take a “mobile” LTE solution. The MTN coverage map is updated dynamically and will always reflect what coverage is available or is not available in the customer’s specific area(s).
Please note that customers are welcome to check the MTN coverage map to see what coverage their area has.

Warm Regards,Zanele MazibukoComplaints Management Team
