Unhelpful *******. Bad Service. DONT USE!

About three months ago, my bank card was ****** and I subsequently had to block the card. Upon doing this, I never realized that this would then cause my MTN payment to bounce because it was linked to the card number. I did not notice that the payment rejected and because my email address is still an old one (not in use) I didn't receive any emails or even sms's notifying me. It was only when my phone was blocked that I caught on. At this point I was now 2 months in arrears. So I tried to make payment on the MTN app, however it prohibited me from doing so. At this point, I tried calling but had my calls dropped repeatedly. I then thought, I am not going to frustrate myself, surely someone will call for their money and I can get this sorted out.... I was very wrong. this month, again, debit order rejected on the 25th and I thought it best to now try again- bear in mind this was 8 working days ago!!! I called, EVERY day to try get this sorted- I had my calls dropped, no one could assist- I even asked to speak to a manager 3 times- to no avail.

All I needed was a statement to make payment, however I couldn't get into the app, and the email they've been sending it to is no longer in use. So how. I live 1.5 hours away from the nearest MTN store and was advised that that's the only way. So gone are the days that a telecommunications company can send an email to a customer apparently.

I even got as far as talking to an agent to set up a debit order to take the money- yet this debit never happened. After this, I was scared to do a manual payment incase the 3 month arrears got debited thereafter- heaven help me- imagine how long of a fight it would have been to get that money back!!!

With the phone being due for contact cancellation- I strongly believe they have done this so I cannot cancel. because I was advised as long as the contract is in arrears, I cant cancel. Any business is VERY quick to collect money- why when I want to cancel am I being blocked from doing so?????
