UNHAPPY MTN CLIENT
Good day
As i type this message MTN and David Moipatli have not given me any feedback on the matter. In total i spent R130 travel expenses that could have been avoided.
I really don't know what to do. ---------- Forwarded message --------- From: nombeko mavundla Date: Tue, 26 Jul 2022, 5:26 pm Subject: Cooling off period To: <***>
Good day
I sent the below to the Regional manager David Moipatli.
He called me around 4h30 stating that he will visit the store however MTN does not have a cooling off period.
According to CPA all mobile networks have a 7 day cooling off period like your call center agent told me.
Like the guy from MTN store Clearwater mentioned that if you purchase a phone from a store the policy is that you return it to the same store.
However I'm getting 4 different solutions from one company. Which is which kanti.
Am I being punished because I bought from my kasi whereas if went to a white dominant environment this was not going to be an issue. Kanti where's this new rainbow nation south Africa Nelson Mandela has been preaching about.
Is our Money different from other people's money. This is not fair. The phone does not do what I want and I'm returning it to the store where I bought and within the CPA's regulated time frame.
I doubt David Moipatli is going to help me because he's protecting his employees.
Please 24 months is a long time for me to have a device that does not satisfy my needs.
Thanks Nombeko Mavundla *** ---------- Forwarded message --------- From: nombeko mavundla Date: Tue, 26 Jul 2022, 2:05 pm Subject: Return To: David Moipatli
Good day David
I'm Nombeko Mavundla contact number ***.
On the 24th July 2022 I took a contract phone from Protea aglen MTN.
However the following day being the 25th I changed my mind due to some features of the phone that were not there. I visited the Store again and I was told by Siyabonga Nhlapo that I must come back on the 8th day for MTN to provide me with a cancelation amount.
I disputed this and he asked that I call the call center on 135. As instructed I called the number and held on for a bit longer than I had expected. As a result I left the store and told him that I will come back. The receiver answered the phone and I explained the reason for my call. The lady told me that there is 7 day cooling of period and I can return the phones withing that time.
On the 26th July 2022 I returned to the store and Siyabonga Nhlapo is off duty. I was assisted by a lady (I did not take her name). She asked me to contact the call center on 135 like Siya did yesterday. I called again and the lady on the phone asked to speak with her. She printed the invoice and mentioned that the store I go to will cancel and refund the R300 that I swiped for Sim card activations. They spoke briefly and she then put the phone on speaker. THANDI MASHININI from the call center confirmed that because they are a franchise store they cannot take the phone and I must go to a direct store.
The lady from Protea Glen Mall gave me a few places I can go to. Clearwater, The Glen, Morningside. I went to Clearwater Mall, taxi fare from Protea aglen to Roodepoort is R23 from Roodepoort to Clearwater is R16 there R39 just get there. When I got I there approached the guy at the counter he called his manager or team leader I'm sure. I explained to him why I was there. He assisted by providing me with your details and explained that the information I was given is not correct because they cannot help me and they are also a franchise store. And if a device is sold at their store it must be returned at the same store.
As I type this email I'm in a taxi going back to Roodepoort R16 and will connect again to Leratong from Leratong to Protea Glen.
Your help will be highly appreciated.
