unhappy customer
In December last year I went to upgrade my cellphone top up contract with mtn, little did I know it would be the beginning of a nightmare, the person helping changed my top up contract to a credit limit of R2000 per month without letting me know first, so I on 14 May 2015 I called 808 customer service to cancel i, and I was sent a text confirming the cancellatio. Since then I have been topping up when I ran out of data bundles, now I have been emailed an invoice of R3000 from 20 May to 20 June 2015, I have no idea of how they reached this amount and attempts to call 808 have been in vain, I'm so tired of MTN's pathetic service, it is so frustrating, I cannot wait to pay up both my cellphone contracts and port to a different company, can someone from mtn explain what's happening? How did bill come about considering the fact that the billing cycle, is after I had cancelled the credit limit.
We are truly sorry for the inconvenience caused and for the breakdown in service experienced.
We've perused your account and see that you upgraded and migrated over to the MY MTN Choice 100 package (100 Anytime Minutes/300MB data bundle/200SMS bundle).
These packages allows you to continue making use of the service and the additional usage is then added to the invoice after the provisioning (minutes/data/SMS bundle) has been used up for the month. The customer can also then request a usage limit to be set on the account to avoid any additional usage. We see that your usage limit was set to R0.00 on the 14th of May 2015.
We see that the usage on both April & May 2015 is valid and there are no discrepancies such as duplicates etc. We have taken a decision to credit you 50% on the usage for April 2015 (R988.20 incl. VAT) and 50% on the usage for May 2015 (R417.04 incl. VAT).
Please send us an e-mail with this correspondence to *** confirming if you accept the credit.
