Unfair MTN
In July 2020 I took a contract with Mtn for a R239 wifi router, to be payable every month for two years. Each month I would receive an invoice to state the money R239 that will be deducted. All was well until July 2021 the novice came and it had an amount of R3000. I enquired with MNT as to such a difference of payment and I was told it is the local data usage but they could not explain who or what activated that local data usage because I had never did any changes on that device, I was thus told I am obliged to pay the R3000.
I then email a complaint to ICASA as I awaited their respond came August 2021 and the amount increase to R6000. From then MTN had deactivated my router and they stopped deducting the R239 from my bank account. I had to make payments via the EFT paying R239 as usual avoiding not to pay at all.
ICASA then transferred my complain to theNCC, then MTN was chalanged. MTN apologized and reduced the amount from R6000 to R1700 they did not want me to pull out since I felt it was a breach of contract from their side. MTN then rejected payments of R239 via EFT and they then transferred my account to MBD.
MBD contacted me of the outstanding balance and I told them what was the course and I agreed on paying R480 per month now until the outstanding balance is fully settled. End of January 2022 I started paying the agreed amount, and also end of February 2022. I then received an email from MTN that my contract has been canceled and I should pay R2940. I engaged MTN as to who terminated my contract because I am paying as agreed but I was only told that the amount of R2940 is due on or before the 20th March 2022.
Never been so disappointed with MTN and got no direction to go about on this matter as I do not have such a lumsum to pay at once they are so unfair and I hope they can be exposed at once maybe I am not the only victim. As in now I have learnt that I am blacklisted already because of this MTN issued.
