Unfair billing no help!!!!

MTN has taken money out my account!!!!! They refuse to refund me. I bought two cell phones for my children with capped data and usage limits in 2015. They were set at R398 per cell phone. The children are unable to access more data. This was told to me over the phone in April 2016. On the call centre line- recorded.

The bill changed to R1887 and R4557 in November and December 2016. MTN allowed my children freedom to access as much data as they please. I was told by a call centre agent that MTN "forgot" to add my two numbers when they migrated to new software, opening the lines allowing the USSD code to allow data usage to the total of R10 600. This was done without my permission. I disputed this in April 2016 when MTN did the same. This money was refunded.

MTN has done it again. This time, they refuse to refund the money. I have phoned reptitively since January the 4th. I have escalated my dispute every day. Each call centre agent gives a different story. The billing department refuses to resolve this.

I have requested they look into the April dispute and recordings to check that I had requested a limit to be set. Each day I call, I explain myself again and am told that I have a case by some of the consultants.. Yet the billing department refutes it. When we set the limit at R1 usage at the call centre, which reflects in the children's phones via the USSD code, I am told it has still not been set on MTN's side allowing the children to spend as much as they want. Yet on the phone, it is at R1. We have set the limit at R1 since Wednesday via different call agents, yet when I phoned today, it had to be reset.

The managers i have spoken to, have not called back. They refuse to help. I Surely if you buy a contract and verbally state you want this contract adhered to as these are children's phones, then this should be adhered to- especially if there are recordings of these calls dating back from April 2016.

I am awaiting the outcome yet again of my dispute. What recourse do I have?
