Unbelievably Useless Part II!!!

Previous, still unresolved attempt to cancel services with MTN

http://hellopeter.com/mtn/complaints/unbelievably-useless-***

Further to the previous report I lodged, I had someone from MTN contact me and endeavour to resolve my issues. Apparently there was no way to limit the monthly spend on the contract, at which point I requested to have it cancelled.

The bill has since escelated monthly (R800 to R1500 to R2000, to R5000) to the current month of almost R10000! I've called the contact center no less than a dozen times, been cutoff and occasionally answered and it's still unresolved!

I've also forwarded the emails twice daily to both customer care as well as the retentions email provided, without success!

Where to now? Do I get lawyers involved or simply start reversing debit orders until someone with some authority can contact me to resolve this!

Hello roastie,

Thank you for your post.

We are terribly sorry for the inconveniences that you experienced as a result of this. We completely understand the frustration it causes.

Kindly be advised that a credit request for R 4 371.62 has been sent for approval.

The system shows that an email was sent yesterday with the estimated early cancellation fees.
Handset value R 9,807.47 / 24 x 16 remaining months = R 6,538.31
+ R 9,330.19 (unbilled invoice)
+ R 800.19 (current balance)
= Estimated Total R 16,668.69

Rest assured, it is not our intention to displease you. We look forward to improving on the service delivery to you.

Regards,
Ayanda
