Unauthorized Sim Swaps Used for ***** Crimes

So MTN allows for sim swaps to go ahead without any hassle now; there was an unauthorized sim swap done "via USSD" on my phone number and i noticed the following day that there was No Service. Upon enquiring about this, the sim swap was reversed and upon asking how this can avoided in the future; I was told to call a different number (135) so that my number can be put on ***** watch. When I get there (135), I had to submit a security question with an answer.
