Unauthorized content subscriptions
Just got 2 sms indicating that I authorized 2 subscriptions totaling R70/day. Was worried it was a ****, so called MTN. Apparently there are these popups that appear when your data is on where you then subscribe. This caught me by surprise, because you can’t be held liable if you don’t agree to terms and conditions, etc. There was absolutely no popups on my phone in the hour just before I received the messages. I now had to unsubscribe from these subscriptions, wasting my time on what was supposed to be a relaxing Sunday morning. This is clearly ********* and ********** behavior from MTN and should not be tolerated.

Kindly note that we are an Internet service provider. We provide you with the service. We cannot protect you from every site that is accessed. The site authorizes and the site owners are able to remove the pop ups/ adverts that appear on the site. If you have deactivated the daily fee, this should not charge you any further charges.

Note that all pop-ups were already blocked from my device. All ads blocked on Facebook, etc. IF something was accessed, which I doubt as I am very careful in general, the fact is that it should not be so easy to inadvertently subscribe to content. Many people are caught unawares, which is *********.
