Unauthorised application submission for cellphone contract

Firstly I received an unsolicited call from one of your many call centre agents trying to sell me a phone contract. After listening to his entire sales pitch, I advised him that (A) I was not really interested and (B) that I would not qualify as I was self-employed and only just in the process of registering my business. The call centre agent then advised that I would not qualify and hung up. This afternoon at 16.42 I receive an SMS notification advising me that my "Recent application" did not meet the criteria and that you were therefore unable to proceed with the request. WHAT REQUEST? I didn't ask for anything. And more than likely you did a credit check and that now negatively affects my credit scoring.

I work hard to maintain my clear credit record and high score and unsolicited application submissions by YOUR STAFF is unacceptable. I want to know who and what gives MTN the right to go ahead and do this without my consent.

This is unacceptable and I no longer care to be an MTN client.
