Unauthorised add on of services and billing by MTN

Hi,

It pains me to state that my relationship with MTN has been in sharp decline the past few years. Not because of their costs, phone/package offerings, or network service as these are good but rather their poor service in capturing info and subsequent billing errors.

I renewed my company phone contract in March and had to produce all the documentation to do so, stating exactly what phone, package , and additional services was required. The previous contract had a "bolt on" 300MB internet bundle and 100SMS bundle. The new contract did not include these nor did my company letter request these (as I did not require them). However, for the past 2 months (April & May) I have received invoices showing that I have been billed for both of these (and the 300MB costs were doubled). How is this possible when it was not part of the new contract nor requested on any documentation nor requested verbally in person?

The reason I have taken to Hello Peter is that trying to communicate with the MTN branch in Menlyn Mall (where I obtained my last 3-4 contracts) via phone or email is like trying to pull wisdom teeth - difficult and severely painful! On previous occasions (including having just come out of the hospital after suffering a thrombosis and pulmonary emboli) I had to wait for hours to be served and then told I need to resubmit documentation from my company because they needed it (even though they had the originals I supp**** and made a mistake in capturing the data).

So, I am not too hopeful of an adequate response this time around but none-the-less have posted this complaint. If someone does choose to respond to me please note that I am NOT going to the store NOR supplying new documentation NOR wasting my time trying to sort out this mess! Please fix this MTN and do so as painlessly as possible.

Regards,

Shaun
