Unanswered account queries

I have repeatedly tried to call the customer care line but my call is always dropped. I attempted to go to the MTN shop in Cavendish Square today, but there was a queue of around 10 people with only 1 attendant.

o What is the PROMO SERVICE FEE that appears on the bill for my *** contract? Please explain why there is this additional R319.30 charge on my account. I have contacted customer care through the MTN website regarding this and had no feedback.
o When I upgraded my handset in the Blue Route Mall branch, I requested that ITEMISED BILLING be added to the contract for the *** number that I have on this account. The assistant said this had been done: I still cannot view itemised bills for the *** number.
o Also when I upgraded my handset, I mentioned to the assistant that the MTN reception where I live is very weak, to the point where our cell phones are useless. She said she would log a ticket in the system system to request that someone come out and install a booster in my house: I have received no further communication regarding this. I have also logged this before on the MTN website and had no feedback.

Hello pauljmelia,

Thank you for your post,

Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused as result of the breakdown in the service delivery in one of our touch points.

Promo Service Fee (PSF) is the cost of your chosen handset. When taking a contract it has certain handsets that are allocated and if you need a handset that costs more, you will be charged for it and its called a promo service fee.

The total cost of the handset is broken down in to the number of months making up your contractual term(24mths) and added to your statement as PSF. That is, you are paying installments instead of a lump sum for your handset.

I have sent you an email regarding the charges on itemised billing for *** number, Please respond so that the product can be loaded on your number.

Regarding the network problem in your area, Please call ***. The number is for the MTN network department and it is not chargeable.

Rest assured, it is not our intention to displease you. We look forward to improving on the service delivery to you.

Regards
Lungi
