Unacceptable Service

My husband had a data contract which expired in May. We called a month in advance, and requested that it be cancelled. The consultant assured us that the contract would be cancelled and there would be no further payments after the final month. A fee of R720 was then charged to our debit order in June following the date on which the contract was due to end. We assumed that it might be a cancellation fee, for the contract which was R320 per month. We went in to the Loch Logan branch here in Bloemfontein for confirmation, but no one could help us, as we were told that the consultants for cancellations were unavailable due to working from home. On the 1st of July R1180 was deducted. The moment he saw another debit order had gone off, my husband went in to the Fleurdal branch and spoke to the consultant working there, named Dwayne. He spoke to another consultant on the phone in front of Dwayne, who confirmed that the contract had in fact not been cancelled, and assured him that he would arrange for the cancellation, and gave us the following reference number: ***. We thought the problem was finally resolved, but on the 15th of July he received an email with an invoice for another R1180. We went into the MTN House branch, and spoke to a consultant in person and then to another consultant named Bill on the phone. He informed us that the contract had never been cancelled, and that he would now finally cancel it, giving us the following reference number: ***. This was done and we have since confirmed it, but we have struggled all month calling and trying to get someone to help us with crediting this invoice, as it is not our mistake, and we have received no services for this. We have spoken to numerous consultants, and sent emails, and complaints, and no one has been able to help us. Please, we cannot pay another exorbitant fee for a relatively cheap contract which we cancelled months ago and no longer use. This is unacceptable. Please contact us to assist in this regard, or we will be forced to take this further.
