Unacceptable Price Increase

I received notification on 5th July 2016 that my contract call costs are increasing by 30% and my carry over is reducing from 5 to 2 times. When inflation is at 6% one would expect that MTN be more in line with this figure. As soon as I am out of my contract I will be leaving after 20yrs, things seem to be going from bad to worse.

Thank you for your post.

We are terribly sorry for the inconveniences that you experienced as a result of this. We completely understand the frustration it causes.

Due to increasing operation costs, distribution costs, transport costs, handset price increases, infrastructure costs, failing exchange rates and increase in taxes. The reduction in mobile termination rates, coupled with the increased costs of network investment, has necessitated a review of pricing.

Please note that MTN reserves the right to review and update contract pricing as per MTN’s subscriber contract. For more information you may visit www.mtn.co.za for the updated pricing, product info and T&Cs.

Rest assured, it is not our intention to displease you. We look forward to improving on the service delivery to you.

Regards
