Unacceptable Change of Price after Contract Conducted

I’m disgusted and disappointed in the service I’m receiving from a call Centre agent at MTN. Natasha Makhathini, I feel she has broken her end of the contract.

I decided to look into upgrading my MTN contract as I need more talk time minutes so about 2 weeks ago I contacted the business Centre when I was put through to Natasha Makhathini who was great and advised me of this great package called MTN Sky Lite - it’s perfect for my needs and she advised the Price is R899.00per month. I have been waiting for the the latest iPhone to come out andnshe said she would contact me on Friday 20/10 which she did.

When she called me at 14:30 on Friday 20/10/2017 we discussed the package again and she advised the price was R899.00 per month. We discussed a few phone options and I decided that the Sky Lite Package was for me.

We agreed and began the contract process, Natasha Makhathini began by saying this is a verbally binding agreement and that recordings are available if required. We went through the terms and conditions and she mentioned and asked me if I was happy with R899.00per month more than a few times.

We wrapped up the conversation and I hadn’t been off the phone for more than ten minutes when I received a mail from Natasha Makhathini, that she had made a mistake and the price is nor R999,00 and do I want to continue.

I have a few issues here,

1. Surely it’s not my problem if the agents at MTN do not know their products and their pricing. 2. Surely the verbal contract is binding on My behalf as well, and the agent has now acted on behalf of MTN and the price should be honored. 3. Natasha Makhathini Has not had the decency to call me after her mess up and has just sent emails.

Please could I have some advice and help here? What are my options ?
