Unable to cancel mtn contract pathetic service

I went into mtn store and canceled my contract as it was the last month of my 24 month contract A month later I find out they just closed my query but never actually canceled the contract. Now I have to pay for a phone that I already finish pay for I keep calling mtn but the consultants seem to be having a party every day as they pick up the call and pretend they can't hear u even when u keep repeating yourself I can never get through to cancelation to find out why my contract was never canceled in the 1st place
