*****ULENT ACCOUNTS OPENED UNDER MY NAME

I have opened a ***** case with MTN today. Someone opened an account in my name, I became aware of this *****ulent act when I received a bank notification for authorization of payment. CRA I called MTN and asked how someone was able to open an account in my name, without my authorization and knowledge. They continued to process those unauthorized accounts without asking security questions or any form of identification and somehow MTN opened two accounts.

Instead of putting a hold on my account, they want an affidavit from me and a copy of my identification document in order to start an investigation which will take weeks to be attended to.
