Trying to cancel contract - no replies

In the last month I've phoned MTN and I've send 2 e-mails trying to find out what I need to do to cancel my contract as I've been billed over R5000 for an account I'm not even using. When I phoned they told me they will send me an e-mail explaining what I need to do. To date, no e-mail. I've sent them 2 e-mails requesting the same information and just got replies back with reference numbers #***4 & #***7 stating they will get back to me. Still nothing. I'm fed up with MTN and want to cancel both my contracts now. I've upgraded one contract but still haven't received my new Samsung Note, so I'll rather go to another provider as the service at MTN is pathetic. I just need to know how I can cancel my contract and get rid of them for good.

Hello michellegrobler,

Thank you for your post.

Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused as result of the breakdown in the service delivery in one of our touch points.

We value your input and also appreciate the time you took to raise your concerns with us because it is only through constructive feedback that we can identify and improve in areas that need our urgent attention.

Kindly note that our system shows that on the invoice dated 2015-05-13 you were billed R4515.86 for data usage.

Kindly visit the store and enquire within about the Samsung Note that was not delivered. They will check with own courier services why the handset was not delivered if it was dispatched from the warehouse.

The contract can be cancelled, we need the details of the handset that were taken with both contracts. Our retentions department will then calculate the early cancellation charges, once the amount has been paid the contract will be cancelled.

Rest assured, it is not our intention to displease you. We look forward to improving on the service delivery to you.

Regards
Lungi
