Tried to close my account

I went into MTN on the 20/0/2015 to close my account in other words I didn't not want a contract with MTN. The Consultant told me that I had to write down on a piece of paper that I needed to close my account which I did. I asked him do I need to keep a copy he said no I don't. Then he deactivated my sim cards without notifying me and didn't close my account. I went back 3 times last year to try and find out what going on. The assistant manager Lesego Setlhare tried to help me but it seems that he didn't do what I had asked. I asked to close my contract and just keep my Cell number but for 8 moths I was without a number. <br> Last month I did a credit check and MTN had handed me over without notifying me. Now I have to R414.72 for and account that MTN only benefited from. So I was told I need to pay that amount and then tried to close it again. I am so frustrated with Mtn's lack of information. I struggle to see how I still have to deal with them. I just want nothing to do with them ever again. Reference Number: ***9.(Legal)

Hello Karenbooysen,

Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention.

Please accept our sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused. According to our records and the information from the Legal department, a cancellation request was sent for only one number and the account was behind with payments at the time the request was made. The number cancellation was requested for has now being moved to Prepaid.

Rest assured that it is not our intention to displease you and we look forward to continue improving on our service delivery to you.

Kind Regards
