Three strikes and you're out, MTN!

1. In Feb 2015, when I renewed my MTN subscriber agreement, I also completed and signed a handset insurance application. I heard nothing further from MTN and presumed my handset was insured. WRONG!!

In October 2015,when I dropped my phone, I made a claim and was told that it had never been insured. Lots of communication with customer Care followed, but nothing was paid out.

2. Then in July 2016, my voicemail facility just disappeared. Try as I may, through emailing and calling MTN's Customer Care, I was unable to find anyone who knew enough or who cared enough to reinstate my voicemail.

3. Over the life of my contract I accumulated a fair number of loyalty points. On 16 November 2016, I opted to use loyalty points worth R720 and to buy airtime. The balance of my loyalty points was reduced by R720 immediately, but my airtime has never appeared! I have been told that the airtime was credited to my account on 17 Jan 2017, but I haven't seen it reflected in my last debit order amount. In Feb 2017, after my third email, I was asked for some personal information, including my pin number. (The pin number is going to be hard to obtain, because that was strike three, MTN, and I've gone!)

Dear Siphumezo
I have reviewed my Mtn invoices and statements for November and December 2016. The R720 airtime that you say was loaded does not reflect in any of these documents. In fact I have paid the full amounts invoiced, with no deduction whatsoever. You say I have received a benefit of R720, but what good does it do me if I neither see its a balance as potential value or receive any value from it?
Kind regards
David Douglas
