I have received threatening messages from MTN for the past 2 or 3 mo this now. Threatening to cut off my service if payment is not made within 2 days of receiving this SMS. However, I have always paid my account on the 25th of every month and these messages are coming through on the 22nd now so they want me to pay on the 24th. When I have always paid on the 25th. For obvious reasons such as the date at which I receive my salary. When I received a message this morning saying my services have been terminated I contacted MTN to firstly inform them of this as maybe they are not aware or the SMS was incorrectly sent. Also to make arrangements and set my payment date back to the 25th. I'm not sure why it ever changed without my knowledge or me being informed. The only information I received via SMS was that I would be credited with data on the 17th instead of the 21st going forward but that the payment date would not change!
The call center agent I dealt with the morning of the 24th of January at 9h28 was extremely rude and totally not interested in anything I had to say or questions I asked. She just kept telling me that I have to pay that amount and I must tell her when I can pay it. When I asked any questions or tried to continue explaining my story and series of events she would cut me off and tell me again "you still have to this amount. So just tell me when you can pay because this conversation is going no where. You don't understand"
I have been a customer with MTN for the last 15 years! I have for the last 15 years paid my account on the 25th of every month! All I wanted was for his lady to listen, understand and answer the questions I had. I did not say I wouldn't pay my account. I'm merely trying to find out why the payment date has changed without me being informed as I was informed the payment date would not change and why I have to be subjected to these threatening messages when I make payment every month. And she is treating me as if I am stupid instead of listening and trying help. It's called customer service!
I'm sure nothing will happen or get taken further with this individual as it never does. But I am truly disgusted with #mtnsouthafrica and the way they treat customers who have supported them for so many years! It's a shame you have such disrespectful people working for you and carrying your brand. All they are doing is dragging it through the mud.
