Third time lucky?

I ordered a router for R150 pm at the start of December. It was only delivered at the start of February. It was only activated a week later because: 1. No one informed me you should activate the SIM, and 2. The wrong SIM was activated the first time after I asked MTN to activate it.
At the end of February I was debited R321.49 for my R150-contracted router. I had it for less than a month, and it was activated only a week after I even received it.
After my first two complaints about your billing I was contacted by Mike Ramaboka. All he did the first time was send me a copy of my bill, and all he did the second time was promise someone would contact me about why I was charged over R300 on a R150 contract less than a month after I started using the router.
No one has contacted me yet. He talked something about Pro-rata, but how I understand Pro-rata, YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO BE CHARGED LESS THAN THE CONTRACTED AMOUNT WHEN YOU HAVE HAD THE PRODUCT FOR LESS THAN A MONTH, CORRECT? NOT TWICE THE AMOUNT YOU HAVE SIGNED THE CONTACT FOR, CORRECT?
Or how do you people at MTN work?

Hello Clif7#7,

Thank you for your post.

We apologize for the break down in service and for any inconvenience we might have caused you.

We have sent the request to the MTN Direct department to confirm when you have app**** on line for the additional contract.

Please note that the first invoices are prorated meaning you get charged from the activation date to the invoice date plus the full month subscription. Please be advised that this is a once off charge. Therefore going forward you will be billed your normal subscription in the next coming invoices.

As per our system the contract has been activated 9-2-2016 and you have signed for the delivery 5-2-2016. Note that it is the client responsibility to call in for activation's.

We do pick up that no usage limit has been set up, note that the account is on open contract please set the usage limit up by using the short code *141*5# or *141*0# note the charges will apply after you have utilized the 3GB. Please set this up from your side on the device. Take the sim card out place on other handset to set this up.

Kind Regards,

Alice van der Merwe
