Do not fall for this trick that MTN does. When your contract has reached the end of its term, and you don't upgrade, they will contact you and offer you to continue on your sim as is, for a reduced price. As soon as they do this, some changes are made to your SIM card and you won't have access to 4G and 5G. I'm not sure if this is a tactic to drive you to utter frustration to take out a new contract, but let's just say it's convincing me to change to another provider. Exactly the same thing happened to my husband in Jan this year, and they assured the same won't happen to me. As soon as I got that sms, only intermittent 3G, which is severely impacting my ability to communicate to all my ****orkers.
