The Worst EVER

In June 2015 I cancelled my contract with MTN as the 24 months was over and I no longer need it. Contract ended and the last month contract fee was taken from my bank account at the end of July 2015. At the end of August 2015 MTN debit my account again. I called there call centre and the agent advised me that \I"renewed the contract and that is why they are debiting my account. I however never renewed the contract. Turns out that my expired contracted was renewed without my consent nor did I sign any paper work to extend the contract. So the account was stopped and handed to their ***** department. MTN ***** department advised me that thy will refund me my money. And as true as bob"

Hello Karmelk,

Thank you for your post.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced with our service.

We do pick up that the contract for cell *** has expired 15-7-2015, the notes on the account reflect that you have called in on the 22-6-2015 to convert the number to pre-paid. Prepaid migration can only be done a day after the contract expired. We do pick up that the SIM card has been used from the expire date to September month and we cannot credit the account for the subscription fee due to usage on the SIM card.

However we have credited the account for the insurance fee for August and September month. The account balance is now R 181.15 the credit will clear the account balance and no debit order will be requested. The debit order has been cancelled.

We do pick up that the SIM card has been used for content service and this cannot be credited back due to Content service not part of MTN service.

Please allow +-10 working days for the credit to be passed.

Kind Regards,

Alice van der Merwe
