The ship is sinking - please let me get off.

MTN data card: 083 440 391

I am a very irate customer!!!

A stop order went off my account this month for R818.99. My debit order has been R155 month.

I called the MTN contact number on ********** . After waiting for ages to get through during today, I finally got through and spoke to Warren. He looked at my account details and said that my account had been upgraded on 19 August. He asked whether I had gone to a store or had received a phone call to do an upgrade. He mentioned names such Petunia and …Pillay. I wish to state categorically that I have not gone to any store to do an upgrade nor did I consent telephonically to do an upgrade.

Warren said that this was serious and that ***** had clearly been committed. He told me to phone your ***** line on ********** 867. I called this number only to be told that this was the internal ***** line for MTN employees. I was redirected back to ********** . I called them again and was basically told by the agent that nothing could be done. All I was presented with was beaurcratic red tape that I needed to fulfil to get this sorted. For example, I must go to the police station and do an affidavit etc. and then call back with the required documents so that MTN could do an investigation. Really????????? Why should I have to do this ??????????? I have done nothing wrong; doing this takes away from my valuable time and costs money – why don’t you as MTN track records and check for the proof that I authorised this upgrade. As far as I am concerned my contract had terminated last year and I was on a month by month contract. I said that I wanted to cancel my contract and was then told I also could not do this as my new ‘**********” termination date was in 2018. This is ************…..

Just by the way.... I have also emailed you on ********** Twice already... and received two automated messages with reference numbers. To date I am still to receive a cal or message from a human being. I even tried calling again today on ********** , adn was told that the call centre can only pick up reference numbers that they have crreated and not ones generated by your email system. Pathectic really!!!!. I was again deirected to to the ***** line number which I called l;ast week. I told teh agent that I had called them last week on being given the number by Warren, and I was told they were not doing their jobs... I give up ..... I am starting with a hellopeter complaint and intend on making this more public.....

So, let me make this clear: -

I demand that the amount of money that was **********ly deducted from my bank account this month refunded back to me (The difference between R818.99 and the R155).

Because of the fact that this upgrade was done **********ly without my consent made worse by the indifferent and pathetic customer service given to me as your customer when I tried to sort this matter out, I do not want to continue doing business with your organisation. Please terminate my contract with immediate effect and cancel my debit order. You need to confirm that this has happened.

Alice.... what can I say..... I received a communication from you on 14 December 2016 with the following reference A ********** :
You advised that a refund has been requested as per REQ: ********** and that the refund can take +-5 working days. We will follow up for the client by latest by the 19th due to the 16th public holiday. You even calledme to confirm my bank details. I did not get refunded within the 5 working days as promised so I needed to follow up again but you were on leave. In your absence on 4 January 2017 I received a communication from Nonkululeko Nkosi from Customer Services that I would be refunded to my bank account. I was given a another refund request reference number of REQ: ********** . Note that this reference is different from the one you gave me.
It is now 10 January 2017 and I still have not been refunded. I remind you once again that the money I am owed is from a debit order that was put through by MTN as a result of a ********** upgrade done.
This is nonsence now.... MTN is messing me around. I demand to be reimbursed immediately as indicated. If I do not get reimbursed this week as indicated, I will be going to ICASA as well as instructing and attorney to issue summons.
