The once off 30 Gb free data MTN promises on its promotions is just for marketing
Our employer took out cellphone contracts for us from MTN. My contract is MTN TopUp 350. Now, MTN says for all contract LTE devices will receive a once of 30 Gb valid for 30 days. MTN did not credit my account with this 30 Gb. On Monday I called MTN Customer Services and spoke to Goodness Khoza, who said she will let the technical people know and resolve the issue within 24 hours. Nothing happened and I got no feedback. On Tuesday I called again and spoke to a lady who said her surname is Mokwana, and she gave me the Reference Number: ********** 63 and also promised that the issue will be resolved. I waited for their resolution and by Thursday, 08H30 I got no response from MTN. On Thursday I called MTN again and spoke to Thembelihle who also promised to talk to Goodness and come back to me the very same day (Thursday). Today, is Friday and I received no feedback from all of the mentioned MTN employees who claimed that they will resolve this issue. MTN must stop misleading the public because this is a trick they use to attract customers. No one has asked them to do this (promise once off 30 Gb). Again, MTN employees are not reliable just like their company because they promise to update you on the progress of the issue you raised, but no, they will never come back to you. Fortunately for MTN this a business contract account and I can't close it myself or when renewal time comes is up to my employer to choose the service provider. I for one will never take / or renew an MTN contract in future. I will also not renew my personal contract that is due for renewal in December.
