The MTN customer is the only loser in this ****.

I have been ****med. Please beware. I received a call from ‘MTN ***** department’ saying there is an attempt to do a simswop on my phone and that they are sending me an OTP number to stop and cancel it on MTN side. Standing at the licencing department counter at the time (13 Sept at 14:00) I did give them the OTP. By doing that these ******** increased my credit limit at MTN to R15000 and continued to harrass me. With 2 more OTP’s forced to prevent the hacking they proceeded to buy various products to the value of R9000 on my credit which I am now liable to pay back to MTN. They planned to take the full R15000. Luckily I then caught on and refused any further attempt to extract OTP’s from me. After the first call from ********** Cell no: ***, I immediately contacted my MTN Melrose Arch branch to tell them what is happening and to ask them to check my account. They said there was no activity on my account. However, when I eventually got hold of the MTN *****line (not easy to find at all) I was told that they can see I was ****med and that R9000 was ****** of my credit. For this amount MTN will bill me on 17 September. Because I gave the OTP it is my fault. Be warned. And also be warned that there is no support from MTN during or after the **** takes place. I have been a customer of MTN for more than 20 years. What amazes me is that MTN have no system in place to raise a red flag that this was extra-ordinary requests from a customer who has never made such requests in 20 years? The MTN customer is the only loser in this ****.
