The company where "NO" seems to be the answer to everything!

2 weeks ago I pre-ordered a Samsung S8+.

I was told I could get the phone on a R779 per month contract. I informed the sales/call centre person that I wanted to retain my current contract, which is now due an upgrade, and get the new handset.

My current contract is R579 per month.

I have been with MTN for 22 YEARS. In that time I have spent close to R200 000 on premiums.

I was told "No" it can't be done.

Does Mtn believe 22 years of loyalty counts for anything... "No"
I wrote to Hello Peter. I received a reply saying that the matter was escalated and they hoped they could restore my faith in them.

Two weeks passed. "No" answer. I wrote again.

I received a call telling me (from a very nice lady) that I couldn't be helped. I must pay R779 per month and then I can have the phone. "No" help and "No" escalation it seems.

The actual cost of a Samsung S8+ is around R4200. (Google it)

I have spent around R200 000 in 22 years and Mtn can't reward that loyalty by allowing me to retain my contract payment and give me a new phone. "No" is the only answer I have received.

To top it all, the poor lady who Mtn got to phone me back wasn't in a position to make those decisions anyway. "No", she can't help....

Vodacom, who don't know me from a bar of soap are willing to offer me the S8+, a better package AND for R130 less per month! HOW can they do that and Mtn's answer (to everything) is "No"?

If all you care about is income, you'll soon be losing mine. Will you really care? "No" would be my guess.

SAD!
