Terrible service from MTN Queenstown

At the end of July 2016 we went to our local mtn store (nonesi mall in Queenstown) to upgrade my wife’s contract. We decided on the deal of the 2 Samsung j1 phones. At the time we were told that they did not have stock but were expecting a delivery early the following week. We called them the following week and we were told that it would maybe come tomorrow. The week went by with no phone/courtesy call and we eventually contacted them again on the Friday. We were again told that it would maybe come today or else defiantly Monday. Monday came and went and we got hold of them again to find out what was going on and we were told sometime this week. We still received no phone call to update us. I eventually called this morning (Saturday) at around 9am to find out what was going on and was told that the phones had come in and I could come fetch it after 12 as they needed to load them onto the system. I called the store just after 12 and I was told that they were not on the system yet and I could only get the phones on Monday as the store manager that loads them on had gone home… Really!!!

I then decide to lay a complaint with mtn’s customer care. I could not get through to speak to anyone and all you guys have listed for customer care is an email address. If I dial the 808 listed it gives me some random options that don’t give you the option of a complaint or to speak to a consultant. I eventually just pressed buttons until someone was available to talk to me and they gave me the following number to lay a complaint – ***. Unfortunately this number only works from 8-5 Monday – Friday.

The service received from your Queenstown branch is shocking to say the least. The sad thing is that you can see it filtering down from your head office!!!
