Terrible service and lies
Recently upgraded my contract and chose a Samsung S9 handset as it came with a free Samsung Gear fitness watch at the MTN Parow Branch in Cape Town After completing all the required paperwork I was informed by the consultant that I would have to request the watch from Samsung as they don't hold the stock on the premises.
I was ok with this but asked if I could do it after I returned from my vacation as I wanted to be either at office or home when the watch was delivered. The consultant said he was not a problem and that I could come in to store to have the lady who deals with the Samsung product assist me.
On my return back to work I immediately went to the store to get assistance to redeem the watch only to find out after a couple of days that there the offer was no longer available and the deal could not be honored (I think this was false advertising by Samsung or both MTN and Samsung as there was suddenly no watches available anywhere).
This upset me very much and I requested that the contract be canceled as MTN / Samsung failed to deliver on their promise. I returned the handset and all its accessories as I received it and the same consultant who sold me the phone sent the paperwork to head office. After a waiting another 3 weeks and numerous visits to the store to find out why it was not canceled I was told by the store manager that the refusing the cancel the contract as it was not a valid reason. the store manager, Porscha was informed by her senior Moenieb de Faria basically that I have to no complaint and I should just accept that I did not receive the fitness watch that was promised to me.
I tried contacting Moenieb on the number I was given by Porscha to hear what the issue was myself and it seems the number does not exist. I tried calling the store to get a cell number for Moenieb and no one answers as well.
I will not pay for the contract and I will continue to reverse any and all debit orders that they process to my bank account and if I blacklisted I will contact the ombudsman and take them to court.
