Terrible Customer Service & *********** Staff

My cellphone contract (which I've had with MTN in excess of 10 years) was due for upgrade November 2016. I went into the MTN store at Nicolway branch, Bryanston, and perused the Yello Trader to decide which handset and package I wanted. The Consultant started to process the upgrade and asked whether I didn't need a package with more minutes per month. I declined as I had a landline at my office for business calls. However, I did mention to her that I could do with more data. She then suggested a package which comes with 2GB of data per month as opposed to the package which comes with 1GB of data which I selected. Immediately I accepted the suggested package which comes with 2GB of data per month. The Consultant loaded everything on the system, I signed and left the store. December I was credited with only 500MB of data, but assumed it was due to pro-rata billing since mid November. January I was again credited with only 500MB of data, after which I raised this with MTN. I explained everything to MTN and a lot of back and forth emails followed. Eventually a lady from MTN Head Office phoned and said she'll escalate the problem to the regional manager. Fact was, I signed for the package which comes with only 500MB of data per month. Another fact is, I am not an MTN Consultant. I don't know the names of MTN's packages. If an MTN Consultant tells me that a package comes with a certain number of minutes and data per month, I'm going to take her word for it. It seemed however that the Consultant loaded an incorrect package on the system. After this was explained to the lady from MTN Head Office and after I raised this with the Consultant in question as well, MTN went silent. Their Customer Care keeps on going back to the fact that I signed for the package that comes with 500MB of data per month. No person at MTN seems to comprehend the fact that their Consultants are *********** at doing their jobs and now I'm left with even LESS data than what I initially wanted (after following the advice of MTN's Consultant)!

Good day MTN
Thank you for your very kind reply as per above. However, as expected, not much came of your promises. One of your consultants contacted me almost 2 months ago requesting some documents to be completed for a migration. I did that, returned the documents and up to today have not heard anything back, nor has the migration been done. MTN service is some of the worst in the industry!
