Termination of contract!

Have tried for over a month now to cancel my cell phone contract. Was told at the beginning of the year that I could only do so in February, sitting at the branch in Boksburg for the past 2 hours trying to get a hold of the call centre to assist in canceling the no. Really quick to get a new contract with MTN but to cancel one is such a mission???
