Terminated contract still active having cancelled 5 months ago.

After numerous calls without success trying to get through to retention and cancellation dept I resorted to email to cancel the contract. I have received acknowledgement email and further more, emails to confirm information to process my request. I will also call to monitor progress but believe me up to now since April I am still receiving monthly statement. The only thing I was told is that the account is still active and was transferred to their legal department. Three different people called me from legal dept requesting the same information: proof of email to show that I have cancelled the contract, but still nothing was done up to now.
