Ten days & counting for my sim to be ported to MTN
On August 27 I asked MTN to port my number from Cell C as my contract had come to an end with Cell C. To date, I have visited the store at Gardens Centre in Cape Town every day for 10 days and get told that the porting department is still working on the issue. How long could it possibly take for a port request to be actioned? Vodacom can do it in under 15 minutes!!! Each time I go in, I am assured that the issue will be resolved in between 2 and 24 hours. The next day, the same excuse! How much longer am I supposed to wait for this to happen?

I have now been without a phone for 10 days which means I cannot make calls, send emails or receive any data-related messages. Apart from the 15+ hours I have spent in the store at Gardens, I have spent about 3 hours on the phone chasing this issue up to no avail.

When I spoke with the area manager, Aquillino Carnivale, he said that he would personally escalate this issue and contact me with a solution. I have yet to hear from him or hear about a resolution.

I cannot and will not wait any longer to have this issue involved. On Monday, should this issue not be resolved, I will be heading to another contractor.
